Giveaway : BeadCrafty's $85 (£50) Gift Certicate

Posted: 31 Oct 2011 04:30 AM PDT

BeadCrafty is a UK online bead retailer that's just a few months old.  There aren't yet many items but the site will certainly grow.

Bradford based Steve and Sarah have 10 years eCommerce experience with their other site, Streetshirts.com which they are now bringing to their new venture.

Steve said, "The reason we decided to start the business is obviously the interest we share in making jewellery and crafts. After using other beading sites we thought we could offer a better customer service and faster dispatch."

It's no coincidence they have the Pandora-style bead on a truck logo because they offer same day dispatch.  Shipping is also free if you are based in the UK.  International shipping is only 1.95 in whichever currency you are using!
BeadCrafty has kindly sponsored this giveaway for a $85 or £50 gift certicate. That translates to a whole lot of beads and findings for one lucky winner!

They do stock basics like Swarovski crystals. Some of my favorite items from their site are shown here.

hand -woven knot bead

Fimo apple beads

Synthetic malachite beads

Fimo orange beads
Printed shell beads

Recycled Denim Jeans Bracelet Tutorials

Posted: 30 Oct 2011 03:00 PM PDT

Image from Mich in LA
Most of us have at least a pair of denim jeans in our closet right?  Perhaps even more than one. So enterprising eco jewelry artisans do not let tired and worn out jeans go to waste.

One of the most imaginative eco jewelry artisans has to be Michelle over at the Mich in LA blog. I've featured many of her creations before.  Here's her shabby chic bangle bracelet tutorial.

Agy over at the Green Issues blog was so impressed and inspired by  Michelle's idea that she came up with several versions including this feminine lacy number :

These bracelets will definitely compliment any outfit with newer jeans! Younger fashionistas will love to get one as a gift!

Statement Crochet Necklaces by Evelda's Neverland

Posted: 30 Oct 2011 04:51 AM PDT

The way to stand out in a crafty crowd is to make things no one else does.  Fellow Canadian, Ewelina Olesinka of Evelda's Neverland on Etsy does just that with her awesome statement crochet necklaces.

Some of the necklaces are lariats and some do double duty as warm collars. If you have to keep your neck cosy in cooler weather, you might as well do it in style!

The designs are all original and  made with natural fibers as well as acrylic yarn. She has a wonderful sense of color and is clearly inspired by nature.  A true artist, Ewelina says, "I don't use ready patterns – I make my items here and now, according my mood."  She crochets, knits and sews her pieces.

Her visually stunning and beautifully photographed designs are the main reasons why she has been featured on many blogs.
