How to Make 3D Leather Flowers for Jewelry and Accessories Posted: 28 Dec 2011 04:45 AM PST Most leather tutorials involve either thin cording or flat pieces of leather.  Then a blog reader, Anna, asked how molded leather jewelry is made.  So here they are - 3D leather flower tutorials! Some are folded or gathered, others are molded. If there is an unloved leather handbag lurking in your closet, you'll know what to do!  Jen from Tatertots and Jello guest posted a wonderful leather flower tutorial shown above on Infarrantly Creative using leather remnants. Do check out the post to see the many ways you can use leather flowers. It's a super fast project! Kim over at the My Cup of Creativi-Tea blog has a different take on the leather flower idea. It has some lovely bead embellishments in the middle. BubblyNatureCreations actually did take an old leather handbag apart for this awesome dahlia flower like tutorial. SpunkyJunky's Leather Flower Necklace is indeed nifty. The frilly effect can be obtained if you use really thin leather. The Martha Stewart site has a great tutorial including a video on how to make these pretty flowers to wear as brooches or pinned or clipped to bags, hats and shoes! Milliners also use special flower irons either cold or with heat.
