Melt Yourself a Pair of Sterling Silver Earrings! Posted: 29 Dec 2011 04:00 AM PST You can be forgiven if you thought this pair of funky silver earrings took a long time to make using sawing and texturing techniques. But it's actually very quick to create if you follow Jeanette Caines of the Jewelry Arts Institute's video tutorial entitled Make Reticulated Sheet Earrings. It's the sort of method that will gladden the hearts of closet pyromaniacs as you get to use a torch to literally melt yourself a pair of sterling silver earrings using a thin sheet of metal. The instructor also covers how to quickly solder the ear wire to the hoops as well as how to pickle or clean the metal with an acid solution afterwards. Other Hot/Torch Techniques :
