How Home Churches Strengthen Missionaries on the Field

Dear Friend,

Have you ever wondered how a missionary's sending church impacts their ministry on the field? For IMB missionaries like Greg and Joanna Hughes, the support of their home church goes far beyond financial giving. It's a vital relationship that strengthens and sustains them as they carry the gospel to the nations.

More home churches are stepping into a pivotal role—not only in sending but in preparing, praying for, and maintaining meaningful connections with their missionaries.

For some, this looks like church members replying to newsletters with personal encouragement or sharing how they are praying. For others, it's care packages, mission trips, or providing housing during assignments in the U.S. These intentional acts of support are a tangible expression of the church's partnership in the Great Commission.

Missionaries and their churches remind us of the beautiful truth that each of us is called to this mission—one fueled by prayer, intentional relationships, and shared commitment to seeing the gospel reach the ends of the earth.
