How to Make Jewelry Clusters Tutorial Posted: 09 Feb 2013 05:34 AM PST Brandi over at Brandi Girl has a super tutorial on how to make jewelry clusters. This tutorial is perfect for beginners who like the look of this kind of design. It's also good practice for making wire wrapped loops! Her beautifully designed and photographed tutorial uses rondelles but remember, you are not limited to this type of beads. A round or tear drop bead at the bottom or round or large seed beads at the top will work just as well. Brandi who is now a graphic designer and artist, said this tutorial was the most requested when she used to sell jewelry on Etsy. So we are indeed lucky she decided to share! Thanks, Brandi! It's not just about knowing how to make great designs but more importantly how to manage a proper business so it is lucrative enough to make it your career and quit your day job! If you are serious about making a go of your handmade jewelry business, you might like to know that the non-profit Arts Business Institute is about to have their winter workshop. It will be held on February 16-17 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. The workshop takes place at the Buyers Market of American Craft, which also features the work of the best craft artists from the US and Canada. So attendees will get to tour a top notch wholesale trade show as well as benefit from a business learning experience. The tuition is $250. What that covers are seminars on wholesaling, pricing, booth design, merchandising, creative marketing, sales strategies and advice on how to build relationships with galleries. Critique of attendees' work by the faculty of the Arts Business Institute and gallery owners will give invaluable insight into how one's work is perceived, which markets to aim for and whether price points are appropriate.
