Silky neck ties are wonderful to use as beautiful recycled jewelry. They can be bought from thrift stores or collected from male family members having a closet throwout! Here is a simple
necktie cuff bracelet tutorial by Linda Everett.
She used a strip from a recycled plastic container to add rigidity to the cuff. You can also get bracelet blanks if you prefer.
There are lots of opportunities to embellish the cuff. For example, make a beaded button instead of a regular one. Use the necktie as a base to do bead embroidery as much or as little as you like.
Silky cloth jewelry like these are very comfortable to wear and are ideal for those who are metal allergic.
Linda also sometimes sells neckties in
her Etsy store.
