Here are two wire work bangles which fit the bill.   First up is Emma Ruth Jones' wire wrapped bangle tutorial over on her blog.   She used 16G wire for this basic bangle.  You can embellish it by wire wrapping beads over the frame. A simple style of adjustable wire bangle is the type which has the ends in loops. The bangle can thus be opened up to slip it on.  The tutorial is over at the Lower East Dry Goods blog.  16 or 18G wire can be used. You can get away with a thinner memory wire because that wire is strong and holds it shape well. Charms are dangled directly on the bangle either with jump rings after the end loops of the bangle are closed or slipped on before.  The charms will slide so if that is annoying to you, attach them at the loops.
