Thanks to the readers who pointed out that the alternative name for the dia beads featured in
last week's The Best Beads Shop giveaway is silky beads. No matter what they are called, these diagonally drilled two hole beads as with so many Czech bead types are simply gorgeous. There are a wonderful range of shapes and colors.
Many thanks too for the wonderful comments for my two very different design tutorials. I was trying to make the point that these beads are just as useful for both beading and wire work. Don't let technique get in the way.
There were many entries for this giveaway! No wonder with such luscious beads. Anna of Almost Precious said it all when she wished she could purchase all the new shapes that come on the market. She added,
"Still it is sooo hard to beat the beautiful and original Czech Firepolished beads, with their lovely facets and finishes they are like precious little gems." Right on.
So who won? I numbered all the eligible entries and got the random number generator over on random.org to pick a winner. The winning number was previously assigned to
Melody! Congratulations!
