Funky 1950's Inspired Jewelry by Jiri Bures

Posted: 11 Dec 2012 05:00 AM PST

Czech born Jiri Bures says he is an "artist, designer and obsessive clock collector with a penchant for 50's, 60's, 70's design." His interests are definitely reflected in his funky mid-20th century jewelry designs.

His website and Etsy store showcase his vibrant and fun designs. They are all handcrafted using acrylic and glass chips. The materials he uses ensures that his pieces are light and easy to wear.

Jiri calls his jewelry collection "atomic" jewelry.  The organic designs remind me though of other things.  One of my favorites is his Splash pendant (above ) which looks rather like an amoeba to me.

Another design which stood out is his Treto brooch below, an outstanding example of a modern evil eye piece.

His originality and playful creativity are delightful to see!
