I love using thick leather cords in jewelry designs. But alas there are always bits leftover. So I was pleased to come across two excellent suggestions to use up thick leather scraps. The first DIY is a clever memory wire bracelet where short lengths of beads and bead groups are use.
The tutorial is by Adrianne over on Happy Hour Projects.
This particular tutorial is not for solid leather cord - just braided or stitched leather cords. Adrianne warns feeding the memory wire through stitched leather cord is difficult so shorter lengths will be easier. I would certainly introduce more bead groups.
I like how she uses a combination of cord ends as well as the little balls for memory wire ends. Note she uses Super New Glue (
not the ordinary Super Glue) like I do. I like it a lot as you deliver the liquid glue through a fine nozzle. Not as messy as E6000 if you are careful not to get it on your fingers!

The Minted Strawberry's
leather and chain bracelet tutorial is a lot easier and suits shorter lengths of leftover leather.
Short leather sections can also be integrated into necklace designs.

leather of earrings tutorial is here.
