How to Make Wine Cork Charms

It really seems a waste to just toss wine bottle corks into recycling.  Cork is a wonderfully lightweight natural material which can be used in jewelry making.  Cork is  impermeable so there is no worries of it getting soggy at all.  And should you drop cork jewelry in any body of water, it will float!




Lisa Storms tutorial shows how slices of bottle cork can be decorated with paint and stamps.  Simple eye screws allow the little wine cork charms to be used as earrings or pendants.

The Far Side of Glass has a tutorial which involves steaming the corks for 10 minutes to moisten them a little. This then makes the slicing easier.
