How to Make a Polymer Clay String Art Pendant

Remember string art?  That was popular a while ago. But you can incorporate this retro craft in modern designs.  Donna Herron has an unusual tutorial where she added a little string art onto her textured polymer clay pendant.

You do have to make a thick enough pendant so there is enough depth for the wire brads or pins to sink in.  And do not skip the step about gluing in the wire brads or pins after baking.

A better way might be to use head pins. Cut them down and bend them into an L shape. Insert the pin carefully so the horizontal part of the L is embedded in the clay. Once baked, the pins will be much more secure.

Another suggestion is to work in resin clay.
