Easy Wire Crochet Earrings to Make Posted: 26 Jan 2013 05:00 AM PST Remember my past post on Romi's lovely bead and wire knitted earrings tutorials? Well, here are a couple of delightful and easy wire crochet earrings to make! Aoibhe Ni, a crochet designer wrote in her blog, Thread Bear's Picnic, a tutorial for a pretty pair of Daisy Drop earrings! Amy Teresa (Jewelry by AmyT) uploaded a video tutorial last year showing how to make a pretty pair of wire crochet earrings. You do need to know basic crochet stitches like chain, slip stitch and half double crochet to follow the instructions. What's more, she shares tips on how to manipulate the stitches to get the overall design into shape. She covers the how to strengthen the wrapped bail area since she is using fine 30G wire (doubled). Amy doesn't mention it but she also used a pin vise to twist several wire ends together as shown in this screen capture. The pin vise is a really nifty tool especially for wire workers (see my past post below). It's so handy, I have a pair! Don't know how to crochet but want to learn? One of my favorite reference books is Crocheting School which has clear pictures and instructions. Try yarn crochet first before graduating to wire! Before You Go :
