Simple yet distinctive designs are not so easy to come by. They are harder to create because they do not have the innate richness of complex designs. But one metal work artisan who does well with her contemporary dainty rings is Parisian,
Berenice of Lunaticart.

She explained,
"My passion for travelling led me indirectly to jewelry making since it was the only way to afford it. I would spend hours and hours sitting on the streets of the visited countries selling my jewelry in order to pay for food and bed. And what started as a need for survival became a need for living." Largely self- taught, she did take a small silversmith course at the "Escuela de Artes Plasticas" in Taxco, Mexico -
the place for silversmithing in that country.

Berenice says she doesn't have any particular style. What she does is introduce very small elements like dots, tiny domed discs and stacks rings for a more substantial look. Her work shows inventiveness like this delicate ring which is made from gallery (decorative) wire :
And this Empty Cameo ring!
One of her ring styles is a marriage of macrame and metal. Macrame was something she did before she became a metal smith. No wonder she called it her back to roots design. Berenice is a wonderful inspirational designer which may make some us rush out and sign up for the next metal work class!
Even her discs are tiny and perfectly made as shown by this unusual earrings design.
