How to Cover a Plain Disc with Superduo Beadwork

You've got to admit sometimes components are simply underwhelming. Like plain discs especially if there is no other redeeming element like texture or shimmering colors.  Check out Italian beader, Sara Spolltore's easy peasy solution with her video tutorial on how to cover a plain disc with beadwork.

She used superduo beads as well as 11/0 seedbeads on 25 mm mother of pearl discs.  You could likely adapt this tutorial for slightly smaller or larger discs by reducing or adding to the number of seed beads needed for the star points.

Not only does the bead work decorate the mother of pearl discs she used but the beading also helps connect the discs as shown in her finished necklace design. Both form and function!  The back part of the necklace was created using tubular herringbone.
