Easy Texture and Paint Polymer Clay Bead Tutorial

You can use many things for texturing polymer clay. This easy texture and paint polymer clay bead tutorial uses a larger filigree to "stamp" on the texture.  This left a rather organic look - like the surface of walnuts.  The tutorial is over on Kalinkapolinka.

The beads are first painted with a contrasting colored acrylic paint, wiping off excess paint. After drying, sanding takes off the paint in the high spots and leaves the darker paint untouched in the lower areas. Very much like how metal is patinated!

The tutorial is in Russian. So either use Google Translate or follow my favorite method. For computer users, use the Chrome browser, right click and select translate to EnglishFor mobile device users, use the Chrome app (free) and agree to the translation when asked.
