It is incorrectly titled as a polymer clay diy - perhaps she meant polymer clay alternative. Whatever the title, the clay is largely based on corn starch and PVA or Elmer's glue. All the ingredients are easily available and probably already in the average home. Thanks Linda for sharing the final recipe after all that experimentation! Your little gnome at the end of the tutorial is adorable!
No heat is required but the drying time is a lot longer than resin clay. I also don't think it is as durable as epoxy resin clay
which according to this site is twice as strong as concrete. However, this great tutorial means you can save some money if buying polymer clay or resin clay is not conducive to your budget. Artistic types will enjoy painting the clay afterwards. Remember to seal afterwards with some suitable lacquer.
Might be a good project for older kids too if they are patient about the 2-3 day drying time!
