Wire and Micro Macrame Jewelry by CSL Designs

Were you amazed by yesterday's braided wire micro macrame bracelet tutorial?  You should because Christina Larsen of CSL Design  is a wonderfully talented British designer.  Her inspirational work using varied techniques definitely encourages one to try different techniques.  She is skilled in macrame and micro macrame work where many of her designs are nature themed. Christina explained, "I love creating unexpected things out of simple materials and I am still intrigued by what can be created by using nothing more than cord or thread."

Her creative life began when she was young. She said, "While growing up with my mum we probably tried near enough everything creative that was available, and we would always love to sit and do something creative together."  But as an adult, she deviated from anything creative.  She returned to the creative fold after she found it helped her cope with tough periods in her life.  She began with macrame, a technique she learned in her youth and has since gone from strength to strength. This generous designer also loves teaching, so I will continue to share her very best ones.

One of my favorites is her astonishing tree of life macrame pendant shown above.  Beautifully knotted and gathered together.  There is also an matching bracelet design. I love how the leaves are separately colored.

I don't have to tell you that it's really micro macrame when you see her tree of life earrings!  She uses 0.35 -0.4 mm cords for micro macrame work.

I love how she used bicones for the body of this macrame butterfly hair clip.

And this rose hair clip is lovely too.

As I have often said, the ability to mix techniques yields really unique designs.  Christina's fox inspired wire wrapped plus macrame necklace is stunning!

As is her braided wire macrame bracelet design - the tutorial was where I initially encountered her work.

Working with very long lengths of wire is not easy.  But Christina is skilled and patient as you can see from her other wire macrame bracelets!

Her other wire work is also most inspirational - this designer does not do what others do. A true original as you can see from her wire wrapped cabochon design with a love theme. A delight both front and back :
