There are many wonderful polymer clay artists out there. One outstanding French designer is Sylvie Peraud whose nature inspired polymer clay jewelry constantly evolves and rises to new heights. Her site is called
Maniguette which she explains means "grains of paradise". Her most recent collection are her seed pod designs. She also creates stunning "parched"earth and bare wood designs.
As you can see, her distinctive surface treatment of polymer clay along with gorgeous paint and gel medium effects led to her innovative look. One of the pictures below of her seed pod necklace shows how she integrated the clasp area into the design itself.
Sylvie began her creative journey back in 2005 after a particularly bad time when she felt like chucking in everything. She wanted to make all kinds of beads but soon polymer clay held sway. Her goal is to make unique designs and it is clear she also wants to push her limits all the time.
Sylvie says,
"My wish is that one day this area recognized as artistic material and not only cataloged in the "hobby" area." Via Before You Go: ______________________________
