You don't have to be getting married to appreciate the beautiful medieval inspired bridal jewelry designs of Ohio based metal smith, Adi Mileva-Thigpen. As you can see from her Etsy store,
Elnara Niall and her website,
Medieval Bridal Fashions she specializes in the style of jewelry which looks just gorgeous on medieval reenactors as well as brides.
Particularly stunning are her handmade tiaras, headbands, crowns and circlets. The headpieces look lovely worn nestled in the hair or on the forehead. Her circlets have adjustable extension chains at the back. Crowns differ in that they are completely solid at the back. Adi has useful tips on her site on which style is best with different lengths of hair.
Adi confessed,
"I am a hopeless romantic, and a big Lord of the Rings fan. When I was a kid, I grew up with fairy tales of princesses, elves and adventures. My biggest dream then was...to be a princess." Now all grown up, she says,
"My biggest satisfaction today is to be able to help anybody who has ever shared my childhood dream, to turn it into reality." She makes not just the jewelry but incredible medieval inspired gowns! Adi is modelling the Celtic Maiden gown here :
When she first started making jewelry, she thought most of her customers would be from
the SCA (organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe) where she is a member. Elnara Niall is her "medieval" name. It is not surprising that others outside the SCA, without the remotest interest in medieval designs, grew to love her romantic designs.
