Most people incorporate crystals and gemstones in bead embroidered jewelry designs. But this lovely design features sea shells!
The tutorial is by Natalia Solyanik over on
Biserok.org. The asymmetrical style is also a refreshing change from centrally placed focal pieces!
Preparation of the shells include not just cleaning them but sandpapering the underside so it is rough enough for proper glue adhesion.
Note that not all shells will work. This type of shell does have enough surface area to be glued down. Consider preparing them in other ways if you want to add other types of shells. A good problem solving challenge!
The tutorial instructions are fairly basic but those of you who have some experience with bead embroidery will have no problem.
