How to Make Recycled Beads from Plastic Bottles

Rolled paper beads have been around for ages. But have you ever considered the same technique but with strips of plastic from recycled bottles for water and soda? The best news is that you don't have to seal it as the plastic will be able to handle moisture!! This video tutorial by Rita shows you how to paint and make recycled beads from plastic bottles.

The clever bit is rolling the strips with scrap lengths of wire. The wire holds the roll together.  The beads are boiled in water to set the plastic rolls in place.  The scraps of wire are then removed.

Shown above is one of the many examples she shared where additional wire wrapping can be added to decorate and link the beads together.

The possibilities are endless as you can see from a couple more examples from her tutorial!
