See additional tutorials below. This video tutorial by Kawaii Felting is actually for a kokeshi doll jewelry box.  The written instructions are here. Kokeshi dolls are traditional handmade Japanese wooden dolls. What is great about having a felted jewelry box is the protection the material provides to your pieces!  It should also pack up quite easily in a suitcase.   If you look carefully, the lower section even has a recessed edge to take the lid.
