This Edwardian favorite is still popular today.  See my past post on how to make an easy silk cord sautoir with a single Cloisone pendant and chain tassel. However, the double tassel sautoir - simply knotted at the front - was also favored. See this antique seed pearl version. You don't have to use pearls to make this lariat style.  Seed beads will do as you can see from this easy beaded lariat tutorial by Bronzeponybeadedjewelry.
