Stained Glass Inspired Polymer Clay Statement Necklaces by TresJolieDesignsbySue

Transparent or liquid polymer clay sure takes polymer clay jewelry to new dimensions!  Susan Whitehouse-Evenson of TresJolieDesignsbySu uses this medium and more for her one of a kind stained glass inspired polymer clay statement necklaces!

Sue said, "As a child, I had a passion for working with my hands, especially in creating small things. This passion was part of the reason that I enjoyed dentistry as a career for 15 years. During this time, I began re-designing our home environment. I first experimented with painting our walls, then furniture, then fabric, clothes, glass, et cetera. Virtually, anything that didn't move, I would attempt to embellish with my creative spirit "gone wild." "

But she decided to stay at home to raise her boys and now focuses her creativity on handmade jewelry. Her often nature inspired polymer clay creations are opalescent due to her use of the translucent clay and multi-layered glazing with pearlescent powders and alcohol inks.  She teams up the polymer clay with crystals and outlined with smaller beads.  The result is sometimes reminiscent of stained glass!  And some of her designs make me think of the glass designer, RenĂ© Lalique's work!
