THE BEADING GEM'S JOURNAL

Jewelry Tutorials Featuring Jump Rings!

Jump rings have to be one of the most useful and versatile findings in our supplies.  If you are only using them just to attach charms and clasps, consider these other ideas where the jump rings are used as design elements.

First up is Allison of Mom Spark's beaded jumbo jump ring bracelet tutorial.  An easy introduction to simple beaded chain maille!  Depending on the size of the bead holes and the wire gauge you use, you could try and see if two large rings can feed through the beads.  Failing that, try using 2 separately beaded large rings.  The double rings is truer of chain maille but just an option for this design.

Adrianne of Happy Hour Projects posted this wonderful leather cord bracelet tutorial over on Crafts Unleashed which features jump rings prominently.

Anne Weil over on the Flax and Twine blog shared her gold jump ring and twine necklace tutorial.  Great way to mix jump rings with other metal beads for this simple but fun design!

So how would you use jump rings in your design?
