THE BEADING GEM'S JOURNAL

Use Cookie Cutters to Make Star Wire Earrings!

If you've been following my blog for a while, you'll know I am always on the lookout for common household objects to use as mandrels for wire work.  I have a collection of cookie cutters which I use mainly for clay work but I considered using for wire work.

Having thought about it is not the same as actually doing it!  Alison over at The Quiet Lion used star shapes ones to make her wire earrings.  You could use other shapes too.  Remember to work harden by hammering the completed earrings using a nylon hammer.

Not only that, wiring in some beads here and there will add to the bling factor!  See the linked tutorials for some ideas.
