How to Sharpen Your Blunt Clay Cutting Blade

You know what they say about taking care of your tools! If they are in tip top shape, then the tools will do the job properly. If your polymer clay cutting blade dulls, it will not make clean cuts. Moreover, all that pressing down and additional sawing action will distort the cane. So this great video tutorial by 123 Clay shows you how to sharpen blunt clay cutting blades.

The tutorial is not in English. But you can turn on the English subtitles. Just click on the gear icon at the bottom right of the actual Youtube video and select for the English subtitles.

I really like how the instructor showed a simple way using a rolled up piece of paper to test if the blades need sharpening.

For cleaning, I suggest you get rubbing alcohol (isopropanol) from the drugstore.
