Captured Briolette Wire Wrapped Earrings Tutorial  More Recent Articles Captured Briolette Wire Wrapped Earrings Tutorial Side drilled or briolettes are so much fun to design with.  So I like to collect different ways to wire wrap them.  This tutorial by Rachel Zaimont  over on Beadaholique shows the captured bead technique. As briolettes are drilled near the top, it is important to stabilize the design. You do not want undue stress on that section which might cause the gemstone to break off.  One of the best ways to stabilize is to do the extra wire wrapping style or to use a bead cap  (see last link below) which covers the area. The extra wires in this design accomplishes the same thing - stops the briolette from swinging too much.
